<>I was never a beef burger person. But I do love burgers. I always go for the chicken burgers. Too many “beef-is-not-good-for-you” remarks from the elders, probably made me stay away from it. Until I have tasted Paul’s Famous Hamburger.</>
Yep, you’ve read that right – hamburger! I rarely see that in a menu these days. It’s usually just burger.
Paul’s Famous Hamburger is located along the Princess Highway in Sylvania. It is hard to miss the sign that shouts for your attention when you pass by the bridge.
Parking is difficult as it is by the side of the highway. There are spots in front of the shop but its limited.
The shop is small but the crew filled up the kitchen. This already assures you of a fast service. So while queuing, somebody will already take your order so they could start preparing it. The menu is posted on the wall. Traditional milkshake flavors is on the other side of the wall behind the counter. Payment is in cash. An atm is available inside in case you don’t have cash.
The wait for the food was not that long. We were pretty happy to unpack our paper bag of food at the table outside the shop. We ordered Bacon Hamburger, Chicken Burger, Kid’s burger, regular chips and Nutella Milkshake.
Verdict: the burgers were awesome. Really, I’ve never liked burger like Paul’s Hamburger. My chicken burger was nice and spicy. The chicken was moist and well seasoned. The hint of rosemary makes it more appealing. The hamburger, which looks really good, had me tempted to take a bite. The patty was really good, not too many spices that overwhelms the palate. It’s thick and juicy. The unassuming way it was prepared and presented is probably what makes the burgers really good. Good sizes too, even the kid’s burger is the same size as the regular hamburger. Worth the price you paid for.
All in all not a bad burger stop. We will definitely be coming back again to try out other hamburger and their pineapple crush juice.
