Food Review: Manpuku

<>The temperature has finally dipped and warm noodle soups will be perfect for such weather.  Kingford is teeming with so many noodle shops and you’ll just be overwhelmed with it.  So before scouring the entire stretch of shops pick the type of noodle soup you are craving for, then go from there.  For tonight, we headed for a ramen noodle shop Manpuku.</>

Shio Gara

Located at, Manpuku is a Japanese restaurant that serves awesome ramen.  It is just a small shop so it could get busy during dinner time.  It is better to come in a bit early like around 6 or 6:30 pm to get a seat.

The menu is short and simple.  What I like about their menu is that each ramen listed under specific soup base.  Different types of ramen was labelled while toppings included in the soup is described.  It makes it easier to order.

We ordered Shio Gara $13.90 , Gyokai Black $15.90 and a small serving of Manpuku Rice $3.90.

Manpuku Rice

The moment the bowl was set in front of me, I was taken aback.  I thought I won’t be able to finish it as it looks like a big serving.  But I realized later that the bowl is tapered so finishing it will not be a problem.

The soups were very tasty.  The sweetness and saltiness is just the perfect balance.  The noodles are handmade which makes it ultimately fresh.  The rice bowl was very satisfying.  The serving was too small you’d want to order more.  Maybe next time order the large one.

Staff are very friendly and accommodating especially that we have a bub with us.  Ordering was not a problem and service was quick.  You don’t have to wait too long. Oh, and you can BYO if in case you feel like having a glass with your ramen.

Have you been to this place?  How would you rate it?
